15-year-old girl killed in Kalona car accident
KALONA (AP) — A 15-year-old girl from Indiana has died in a two-car crash in the eastern Iowa town of Kalona.
The Iowa State Patrol says Brittany Hochstetler, of Grabill, Ind., was killed Sunday when the car she was riding in collided with a truck at an intersection shortly after 1 a.m.
The driver, 17-year-old Teresa Miller of Wellman, was heading northbound when it crashed into an eastbound truck driven by 27-year-old Jeffrey Bulechek, of Iowa City. Miller’s car was also carrying 16-year-old Brooke Miller, of Fay, Okla.
Hochstetler was flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and later pronounced dead.
Bulechek and the Millers were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
