2 Fairfield schools have brief lock down Wednesday

Dec 05, 2012

Pence Elementary School and Fairfield Middle School were under a Level I lock down for approximately 10 minutes today around lunch time. A Level I lock down is defined as a possible threat in the community not directly related to the school, for example, a robbery suspect in the area. In this case a suspicious individual was noted in the vicinity of Fairfield Middle School. Under a Level I lock down students stay in the building and continue with normal school activities. People are not allowed into or out of the building until the lock down is lifted. Law enforcement responded to the call and the lock down was lifted without incident.

— Fairfield Community School District Superintendent Art Sathoff issued this press release after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
