40 Days for Life campaign wrapping up
To the editor:
Jefferson County Right to Life wants to thank everyone in the community for their prayers, fasting, and outreach during the Fall 2012 40 Days for Life campaign, which ends on Sunday, November 4. As of Day 34, Monday, Oct. 29, 469 lives of unborn children have been saved from abortion. But only God knows the true number — when you consider that these 469 people will probably grow up, marry, and have children of their own. What we don’t think about is that when a child’s life is lost through abortion, we are really losing generations of lives! What a tragic, irreplaceable loss. To learn the total number of lives saved through this campaign, please go to www.40DaysforLife.com and see the final number.
The public is invited to the closing program for 40 Days which will be at Word of Life Lutheran Church at 2090 Libertyville Road on Sunday, Nov. 4. A chili lunch will be served, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The free will offering taken will be used to support local pro-life activities. Mike Buster from Burlington will give a short presentation on his pro-life work, and then participants will go to Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1601 S. Main Street to remove the 135 white crosses that were placed there Sept. 26 to memorialize the 135 lives lost to abortion every hour in our nation.
We pray that every child that is conceived will be cherished and given the opportunity to experience life.
