April is child abuse prevention month
To the editor:
Our children deserve a chance at a bright future and it begins with creating a community that invests in their safety and wellbeing.
This April, Jefferson County is participating in National Child Abuse Prevention Month to increase awareness that child abuse is preventable and that we all play a part in promoting the social and emotional wellbeing of children and families in our community.
Community Partnerships for Protecting Children will celebrate the month with daily radio public service announcements and interviews, local newspaper articles, and Blue Days in which clubs, organizations and schools will choose a day to wear all blue in an effort to bring Child Abuse Prevention is a community concern. Protecting children is everyone’s business.
Preventing child abuse is truly a community effort. By offering services that educate and support parents, CPPC helps ensure that children in Jefferson County grow up safe, nurtured and able to reach their full potential. With everyone’s participation, we can become a community that reaches out to all families in need before a crisis occurs.
Join us in building brighter futures for our children by:
• Participating in local Child Abuse Prevention Month activities
• Volunteering with Fairfield City Council
• Teaming up with your neighbors to create a caring and connected neighborhood.
