Arc receives grant
The Arc of Jefferson and Nearby Counties has received a $3,000 grant from Variety - The Children’s Charity to fund local camperships.
Each spring, designated students in the Fairfield Community School District attend Camp Courageous in Monticello. The Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties fund raises to keep the great adventure going.
“The wonderful support we receive from Variety helps us continue the camperships,” said Arc member and grantwriter Sheila Clements.
The mission of Camp Courageous is to provide exceptional year-round recreational and respite care opportunities for individuals with special needs and their families. The camp is run primarily on donations, giving all individuals the opportunity to give through gifts of time, materials, money, and other means that support the camp.
