Art walk features artisan fairShowcased Artisans
Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk presents the second annual “Artisan Fair on the Square” from 6-9 p.m. Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
Artists and artisans will be paired with local businesses and galleries around Fairfield’s historical downtown square for an annual gallery crawl and opportunity to purchase gifts for the holidays. Art walkers can enjoy a submerged experience of Fairfield’s businesses, galleries and art venues in the Cultural District on the square.
The Artisan Fair on the Square, a self-guided tour of galleries and shops hosting artisans, is a snapshot of Fairfield’s thriving art scene with a focus on the visual arts and artisan crafts. It’s an opportunity for all art venues and businesses to come alive with art lovers and anyone interested in investigating, appreciating and celebrating local art.
Besides the exhibits, three jazz and acoustical performances are scheduled Friday evening. The Soul Deacons from Iowa City/Cedar Rapids will perform at 7 p.m. at Josie Hannes Design Studio/Flair. The David Leffler Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Iowa State Bank, and Sharon Bousquet will play at 8 p.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit.
