Artist series preview party Monday
The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is unveiling the 2014-15 Sondheim Artist Series at a preview party 6 p.m. Monday at the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
The preview party will include the “Your Center – Your Artist Series” season schedule, complete with videos and highlights provided by marketing and events manager Mandy Mellum and executive director Rustin Lippincott on the 30-foot video screen.
The center staff will be providing complimentary refreshments.
“We are excited to announce our artist series at this special preview party,” said Lippincott. “We will be giving away tickets throughout the night, and this will be your opportunity to purchase tickets — single tickets, pick packages and season tickets — before they go on sale to the general public [Tuesday].”
Computers will be set up in the convention center’s atrium for ticket sales, and all ticketing fees will be waived when a patron uses a promo code that will be given out at the preview party.
Patrons unable to attend the preview party, but who would like to receive the “purchase-before-the-public-can” code, can contact Mellum for the information.
Following the artist series announcement, development director Paul Minicucci will be hosting an ice cream social for Friends of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center and the general public. Minicucci will be discussing the membership program designed to recognize and reward supporters of the center and encourage contributions.
“Our Friends are a very important component to the center so I’m looking forward to our Friends renewing memberships for 2014-15 which runs from July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015, and welcoming new Friends to the center,” said Minicucci.
“We are excited to add our ‘Friends of Friends’ benefit, which allows a free ticket to any performance with a purchase ticket,” he continued.
Your Center — Your Artist Series features 21 performances that create opportunities to celebrate, escape and believe; providing magical moments where the performers amaze, inspire and entertain.
Now in its sixth year, the artist series is about celebrating the rich and diverse entertainment that graces the stage and enriches the quality of life. It’s about Broadway national touring shows; Grammy award-winning musicians; exhilarating and virtuosic dance performances; intimate evenings with iconic personalities; witnessing captivating artists and spins of acrobats; and music that provides the soundtrack of life.
