Baby-sitting class offered
The Super Sitter baby-sitting course, sponsored by the Jefferson County Health Center Auxiliary, is set from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13 at First United Methodist Church.
The free course is open to all fifth-grade girls and boys in Jefferson County.
The baby-sitting course will include information and tips to help attendees become a “Supper Sitter.” Topics covered will be fire safety, first aid, infant/child care and development.
Those who pass a multiple choice test receive a certificate and a tote bag.
Information about the class, including a registration form, was sent home from school with eligible students earlier this week. Completed and signed registration forms are due Wednesday by mail to June Lowenberg, 2525 Salina Road, Fairfield 52556. Forms also can be dropped off at Fairfield Farm & Home Real Estate. Do not return forms to the school.
The health center auxiliary offers the free course once a year. The auxiliary does not give out names for baby-sitting jobs or referrals.
Fifth-graders attending should bring a sack lunch.
