MOUNT PLEASANT — Faith Pope, Ottumwa’s 6-foot-6 basketball standout, has traded in his red and white jersey for maroon and gold duds this winter.

The all-state senior recently transferred to Class 3A defending state champion Mount Pleasant, leaving behind an Ottumwa squad that went 9-13 last winter.

As a junior, Pope scored 16.6 points per game and shot 53 percent from the field in the CIML-Metro division. He also blocked 64 shots.
