BATAVIA — The annual Batavia Days festival is planned Friday and Saturday, with food, competitions, entertainment and more.
Weigh-in for the garden-tractor pull is set for 6 p.m. Friday at the track behind the Batavia BP Station, with the pull starting at 7 p.m.
Nearly two dozen classes are planned, and more could be added.

The Fairfield Kiwanis Club’s Chuck Wagon will be vending food and beverages during the garden-tractor pull.
An 8-ball tournament is set to begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Still Ned’s Place.
Saturday will begin with breakfast served by the Kilwinning Lodge No. 198 A.F. & A.M. from 6-9 a.m. at the Batavia Masonic Lodge. The public is welcome. A freewill offering will be collected for the pancake and sausage breakfast.
A vendor fair and craft show, with products like Lia Sofia, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information about setting up a table, call Tycene Weber at 919-4442.
The parade down Third Street will start at 10 a.m. Marvin and Tillie Whitmore will be the grand marshals.
Immediately after the parade, the Batavia Fire Department will serve its annual brat-pork sandwiches.
Saturday also will include a car show, presented by Bill and Gerri Allen, in downtown Batavia. Entry is free. Participants will receive a free meal.
The Batavia Library will have an open house and used-book sale Saturday.
Weigh-in for the Batavia Days Farm Stock Tractor & Truck Pull, is at 11:30 a.m., with the pull starting at noon at the track behind the Batavia BP Station.
The farm stock classes for the tractor pull include: 4,000, 4,500, 5,000, 5,500, 6,500, 7,000 and 9,000.
Non-turbo farm stock classes include: 10,000, 11,000 and 12,000.
Turbo farm stock classes include: 10,000, 11,000, 13,000, and the 12,000 Martin Durflinger Memorial Class.
Truck classes include: stock diesel, open diesel, street stock small block, street stock big block, pro street and pro stock.
The sled will be operated by Jeff White.

Also at noon Saturday, a baby contest will be in the Batavia Community Senior Center.
During the afternoon, a pedal-tractor pull in set in the pavilion, kids’ games are planned, and the Fairfield Police Department’s K9 Unit is scheduled to give a demonstration.
A horseshoe tournament will begin at 2 p.m. downtown.
The Batavia Days Committee will host a free meal provided by Cargill from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the community center, and the Batavia TTT will host an ice cream social from 4:30-7 p.m. in the pavilion.
Saturday events will conclude with Diana Upton-Hill performing from 5-8 p.m. in the pavilion.
Those attending the Batavia Days events are reminded to bring lawn chairs.
The slow-pitch softball tournament planned for the weekend has been canceled, but the JaWaKe Allstars will be playing Saturday on the Batavia ballfield. For information, about the tournament cancellation, call Andy Pearson at 919-2319.
Proceeds raised by the Batavia Days Committee help fund an educational scholarship presented by the committee. This year, the scholarship was awarded to 2014 Cardinal High School graduate Elizabeth Denniston.
