Bell ringers

Fourteen employees, along with some of their family members, from Jefferson County Health Center volunteered to ring the Salvation Army bells all day Thursday in front of the Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store. From left are: hospital administrator and CEO Deb Cardin, vice president of clinical services Joneane Parker, central stores manager Tony Webb and On Media representative Joe Ostrenga, who happened to be visiting the health center and volunteered to bring his accordion. He entertained everyone by making up songs on the spot and putting his own twist on traditional Christmas carols. The Salvation Army had a goal to earn $500 Thursday, and the health center volunteers exceeded that by raising $508.
