The Birmingham Library board will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the library.
The Birmingham Library will now be open from 7-8:30 p.m. on Mondays; 1-5 p.m. on Wednesdays; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
The Birmingham Homecoming Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Birmingham Lions Building.
The committee members will work on finalizing plans for the homecoming celebration set for June 6-8.
The Birmingham Homecoming Prince and Princess Contest will be held the evening of June 6.
The contest is for children ages 2-4 and 5-8, who have a Birmingham address.
Entries are due by May 25.

The Rebekah Circle of the Birmingham United Methodist Church will meet at 7 p.m. May 7 at the church.

Stockport City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at city hall. To address the mayor and council, call city hall at 319-796-2135 24 hours prior to the meeting to be placed on the agenda.
Stockport Public Library has more paperback books on its book sale table this week. Most are Harlequin Romance books. A few are hardbound books by James Patterson and other authors.
