The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has several blood drives scheduled.

The Birmingham Lions Club will host a blood drive from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Birmingham Lions Building. Walk-ins are welcome, but to make an appointment, call Harry Anderson at 319-498-4201. Donors who last gave on or before Sept. 13 are eligible to donate.

Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville will host a blood drive from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in its fellowship hall. Walk-ins are welcome, but to make an appointment, call the blood center at 800-452-1097. Donors who last gave on or before Sept. 18 are eligible to donate.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. A blood donor card or other photo identification is required to donate. Sixteen-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form each time they donate. Forms are available at www.bloodcenter.org.
