Blood drive results listed; drives set
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center recently held successful blood drives in the area.
The mobile drew 54 pints Feb. 15 at Van Buren High School in Keosauqua, 28 pints Feb. 18 at Fairfield First United Methodist Church, 29 pints Feb. 19 at the Lockridge Senior Center and 40 pints Feb. 19 at Cambridge Investment Research Inc. in Fairfield.
With the success of these blood drives comes the announcement of more opportunities to donate blood. A blood drive will be held from 2-7 p.m. March 12 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 15 are eligible.
Another drive will be held from 3-7 p.m. March 13 at the Keosauqua Senior Center. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 16 are eligible to donate.
Another drive will be held from 3-7 p.m. March 28 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 31 are eligible.
Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about an hour to complete.
Donors must be at least 16-years-old, be in good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. A blood donor card or other form of photo identification is required to donate. Sixteen-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form, available at www.bloodcenter.org, each time they donate.
