Bluegrass showcase of bands planned May 3
Bluegrass Music Association of Iowa is planning the second annual Showcase of Bands and Jam Session May 3 at the Fairfield Middle School.
The free show is 5-8 p.m.
Scheduled to appear are local artists Truckstop Souvenir; Milltown, a Northeast Iowa-based group; and an all-star youth band, Barton’s Hollow, from the Minneapolis, Minn., area.
In addition to the stage performances, area musicians can participate in the open jam sessions that will be held as well. Jamming areas will be provided. The association is asking for a free-will donation.
The association will be holding raffle drawings, silent auctions and selling homemade baked goods. Concessions will be provided.
A grant from Fairfield Convention and Visitors Bureau is helping to support the event.
