Branstad to visit Fairfield Aug. 28
Hawthorne Direct in Fairfield will host Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds from 8:15-9:15 a.m. on Aug. 28.
The Governor’s Office contacted Hawthorne Direct to arrange a special meeting as part of the governor’s on-going, state-wide, 99-county, outreach tour. Branstd is seeking to learn more about a variety of state operated businesses, thank those companies for doing business in Iowa, and identify any barriers those companies may be facing while doing business in Iowa.
Following the Hawthorne tour, Cindy Woodbury, executive director of Fairfield 1st Friday Art Walk, and Rustin Lippincott, executive director of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, will also make presentations. Woodbury and Lippincott will describe the contributions of their organizations to the local economy, and will discuss with the governor the ways in which the state of Iowa can better support these artistic efforts.
