Breakfast at county fair; 'Prophetic gathering' each Sunday
Church serving breakfast Sunday at county fair
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will be serving a biscuits and gravy breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Greater Jefferson County Fair.
The suggested donation for the breakfast is $4 for adults and $2 for children.
The proceeds will be used to help fund the church’s parking lot resurfacing project.
The congregation voted June 23 to put a coat of blacktop on the parking lot because it is breaking up in several spots.
The church is using $20,000 from its building fund and fundraising for the balance of $13,500.
The parking lot should be completed by fall.
According to the building committee, the parking lot resurfacing should be the final major project of the many undertaken this past year, although there is some painting and minor repairs to do on the east end of the building and painting to do on the patio building.
Ministry holds ‘prophetic gathering’ each Sunday
Lightning and Thunder Ministry has a “prophetic gathering” at 10 a.m. every Sunday in the Best Western Fairfield Inn conference room.
Lightning and Thunder Ministry is an interdenominational ministry founded by Richard and Rose Kessler. It is under the covering of World Ministry Fellowship in Plano, Texas.
“There is a call for those that are seekers and are hungry for fresh revelation,” said Rose Kessler. “We invite those who desire a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit, to make great impact in your life, family and region.
“We are experiencing fresh revelation through the teaching on The Seven Fold Flow of the Holy Spirit.”
The gatherings include praise, testimony, prayer and teaching with the flavor of a round-table coffee house.
