Cardinal beaten by Sigourney-Keota
The Cardinal football team lost Friday to Sigourney-Keota 42-6.
“The results were not what we were hoping for, but our guys competed the whole night,” said coach Adam Hadenfeldt. “Our energy and our effort were outstanding.”
Cardinal (1-7) had trouble moving the football. The Comets gained only 22 yards passing and 51 rushing yards.
“We just we’re not able to do the things that we needed to do consistently,” Hadenfeldt said. “Sigourney is a very good football team, and they played well.”
Linebacker Nathan Yeager was a force on defense, racking up 21 total tackles.
Cardinal travels Friday to West Branch.
