Cattlemen plan banquet Dec. 2
Jefferson County Cattlemen’s Association will be hosting its annual banquet Dec. 2 at the Fairfield Eagles Club, with a grilled steak meal starting at 6:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Wayne Humphreys, an agricultural motivational humorist all rolled up into a family entertainer.
Humphreys grew up in eastern Iowa and plays a prominent roll with Iowa Corn Growers Association. He combines his farmer’s pride with today’s realities and puts a little twist to his story for all to appreciate and maybe even chuckle.
The grand prize for the evening will be $200 in beef certificates, which can be used in restaurants, grocery stores and local lockers when purchasing any beef product. Everyone purchasing a banquet ticket will be eligible to win the grand prize.
Various other door prizes will be given throughout the evening.
Other prizes will be a gift certificate for Luckman’s Hardware for all 2014 memberships to Jefferson County Cattlemen Producers or Friends of the Industry.
Banquet tickets are $20 each. Tickets are available from Jefferson County Cattlemen’s Association members or by calling 563-599-1207 or 641-919-0898.
