Celtic-inspired show canceled
“Claddagh — An Explosion of Celtic Dance & Passion,” originally scheduled as part of the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts Artist Series May 4, has been canceled.
“We were notified of the difficulty the producers were having regarding obtaining the necessary funding from the Irish Department of Tourism and that this first tour was not going to happen,” said Rustin Lippincott, executive director of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. “We deeply regret having to cancel this performance. We are working with the producers to see if this performance will be able be part of a future artist series at the Sondheim center.”
“This is the first time in the four seasons of our series that we have had to cancel a performance,” said Lippincott. “We shared in the excitement of this performance with our patrons and are committed to continually identifying unique performance to amaze and inspire our audiences.”
The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center has a variety of options for patrons with purchased tickets for “Claddagh – An Explosion of Celtic Dance & Passion.” Contact Ticket Office Manager Sasha Luse at 472-2787 or firstname.lastname@example.org for the options.
“Although this is a regrettable cancellation, we are happy that we have remaining performances in the current season that our patrons will enjoy. And we are excited to reveal the schedule of performances for our 2013-14 artist series with our patrons very soon,” said Luse. “We want our patrons to know we will do everything we can to accommodate them in light of this cancellation.”
