Chance of another winter storm Saturday, Sunday
The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of north central Illinois, northwest Illinois, west central Illinois, east central Iowa, northeast Iowa, southeast Iowa, including Jefferson County, and and northeast Missouri.
Another clipper system tracks across the upper Midwest today, spreading light snow over the northern portion of the outlook area, mainly north of Interstate 80. Accumulations of up to 1 inch are likely.
A frontal system will bring a chance of light rain and drizzle Thursday, with freezing rain or drizzle possible north of Highway 30. At this time, any ice accumulations would be light and mostly on exposed surfaces.
A major winter storm will move out of the southern Plains into the Ohio Valley Saturday and Sunday. The exact track of the system remains too unclear to determine the impacts, if any, of this storm as it could stay mostly south or south of the region.
