Cheerleading camps set for youth at rec center
Area youth can learn Fairfield High School cheers and routines at cheerleading camps and then perform at a football game.
The first camp for youth in fifth- through eighth-grades runs Tuesday through Sept. 2 from 10-10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center.
Participants will learn FHS cheers and a pompom routine to perform at an FHS football game in Trojan Stadium.
The camp is limited to 20 participants. Cost is $30.

Cheer camps for first- and second-graders and third- and fourth-graders will be held Sept. 2 through Oct. 7 at the recreation center.
The younger group will meet from 4:15-4:45 p.m. and the older group will meet from 5-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The groups also will perform and cheer at the Oct. 13 FHS football game in Trojan Stadium.
Participants will learn FHS cheers and moves, stunts, tumbling and team spirit.
Participants need to wear shorts and a T-shirt to practice, plus bring a water bottle.
Participantion is limited to 30. The fee is $30.
