City accepting applications for sales tax money
The city of Fairfield reminds non-profit organizations it’s not too late to apply for local option sales tax funds for their community betterment projects.
The deadline for applications is Jan. 2. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their request by April 30, and if funds are approved they will be distributed by July 31.
Only applicants that qualify as a 501c3 are eligible to apply. The city does not accept requests for political causes or campaigns. It accepts requests from religious organizations only if the particular program will benefit a large portion of the community without regard to religious affiliation and does not duplicate the work of other agencies in the community.
