SEWARD, Neb. — Concordia University, Nebraska, recognized graduating senior Ashley Willoughby from Fairfield for outstanding academic achievements in health and human performance at the Academic Honors Reception May 10.
Every year, each academic department may give two or more awards, depending on the size of the department and number of students. Each department establishes its own criteria for award recipients, but the criteria must consider the student’s grade point average, level of service to the department and level of service to Concordia University.
Willoughby earned a Bachelor of Science in Education during its 2013 commencement ceremony May 11. She also was awarded a Lutheran Teacher Diploma.
PELLA — The following local students graduated from Central College May 11 in a ceremony at H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.
Mitchell Bloomquist of Batavia graduated magna cum laude with a major in athletic training.
Amanda Lamb of Fairfield graduated with a major in exercise science.
Amanda Melcher of Libertyville graduated cum laude with a major in elementary education.
Kristopher Muntz of Farmington graduated with a major in religion.
Central College had 348 graduates from 15 states and one foreign country.

DES MOINES — Grant Liebe of Fairfield was named to the 2013 spring semester Grand View University President’s List.
Students are named to the president’s list for earning a grade point average of 4.0 while carrying at least 12 hours of classes.
