Congdon performing for organ spotlight series
Ahreum Han Congdon brings her imaginative, powerful and extraordinary performance skills Tuesday to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
The 7:30 p.m. concert is as part of the Sondheim Organ Music Spotlight Series.
Congdon has thrilled audiences throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe. She was a featured soloist at the national and regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists held throughout the country over the last eight years and played at the International Organ Festival in Switzerland in 2015.
Congdon graduated with a Bachelor degree from Westminster Choir College and obtained a diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music. She received her Master degree from Yale Institute of Sacred Music. Since then, she has received top prizes from numerous exclusive competitions.
Congdon is currently the principal organist and artist-in-residence at First Presbyterian Church in Davenport, as well as the college organist at Cornell College in Mount Vernon. She also was on the organ faculty at Iowa State University in Ames. She has served as an organist for many other organizations as well, such as Marquand Chapel, the Berkeley Divinity School of Yale University, and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Stamford, Connecticut.
The Sondheim Organ Spotlight Series is a partnership between Fairfield Arts & Convention Center and Fairfield Concert Association.
Fairfield Concert Association members are admitted with proof of membership; no ticket is required for those members.
