Congregate Meals: April 22-26, 2013

The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday — Baked chicken, potato salad, tomato and cucumber salad, fresh melon, and chocolate pudding.

Tuesday— Swedish meatballs, noodles, spinach, mandarin oranges, and Waldorf salad.

Wednesday — Roast pork, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli, and strawberries with bananas.

Thursday — Loose-meat burger, wheat hamburger bun, oven roast baby pot butter beans, and oranges with pineapple.

April 26 — Beef macaroni casserole, peas, spinach salad with oil and vinegar dressing, and a banana.

Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA’s/RIA’s for adults.

Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.

Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

For reservations at Lockridge, call 319-696-2711.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
