Congregate Meals: Feb. 10-14, 2014
The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.
Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.
Monday — Salisbury steak and gravy, oven-browned potato, broccoli Normandy, diced peaches, orange juice.
Tuesday — beef and bean vegetable soup, saltine crackers, spinach-strawberry salad, homemade wheat dinner roll, apricot halves.
Wednesday — baked chicken, candied sweet potatoes, broccoli-cauliflower-raisin salad, fruit crisp.
Thursday — pulled pork, wheat hamburger bun, mixed vegetables, creamed peas, tropical fruit, vegetable juice.
Feb. 14 — roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, scalloped cabbage, banana-orange cup, Valentine’s Day treat.
Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread or muffins and margarine are offered with all meals.
The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA’s/RIA’s for adults.
Frozen or shelf-stable meals are available for evenings, weekends and holidays.
Meals are offered on a contribution basis. For a person 60 years old or older and his or her spouse of any age, the suggested contribution is $3.50. The suggested contribution a home-delivered meal is $4.
An individual younger than 60 must pay the full cost of the meal; the cost is posted at the meal site.
Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield.
