Congregate Meals: Jan. 7-11, 2013
The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.
Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.
Monday — pork cutlet, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts with cheese, blushing pears.
Tuesday — chili with beans, creamy coleslaw, cereal muffin, sliced strawberries.
Wednesday — beef patty, wheat bun, baked potato with sour cream, slices carrots, fruit cocktail, orange juice.
Thursday — liver and onions, parsley butter potato, green bean casserole, homemade wheat dinner roll, plums.
Jan. 11 — glazed ham balls, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, apple raisin crisp.
Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA’s/RIA’s for adults.
Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.
Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and the Ed Bruegge Band plays at noon the first Wednesday of every month in Fairfield.
