Congregate Meals: June 23-27, 2014
The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.
Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.
Monday — Salisbury steak and gravy, O’Brien potatoes, cabbage and carrots, fresh fruit.
Tuesday — creamed turkey, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges.
Wednesday — breaded chicken breast, parsley-butter potato, green beans amandine, apricots, fruited yogurt.
Thursday — sweet and sour pork, brown rice, Brussels sprouts, banana, ice cream cup.
June 27 — cheesy potato-crusted fish fillet, oven-roasted baby potatoes, asparagus, oranges and pineapple.
Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread or muffins and margarine are offered with all meals.
The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA’s/RIA’s for adults.
Frozen or shelf-stable meals are available for evenings, weekends and holidays.
Meals are offered on a contribution basis. For a person 60 years old or older and his or her spouse of any age, the suggested contribution is $3.50. The suggested contribution a home-delivered meal is $4.
An individual younger than 60 must pay the full cost of the meal; the cost is posted at the meal site.
Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in Fairfield.
