Congregate Meals: March 4-8, 2013
The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.
Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.
Lent will be observed Feb. 13 through March 29. Fish will be offered each Friday until March 29 as an alternative. Notify meal site if fish is preferred when making reservations.
Monday — Spaghetti noodles with meat sauce, green beans, layered lettuce salad, diced pears, and orange juice.
Tuesday — Pork roast, sweet potatoes, peas, mandarin oranges, and tomato juice.
Wednesday — Chicken, baked potato with sour cream, Brussel sprouts with cheese, and a peach cup.
Thursday — Beef stew, whole-grain biscuit, tossed lettuce salad, assorted dressing, sliced strawberries, and a crispy rice bar.
March 8 — Hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, creamed spinach, and applesauce.
Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.
Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and the Ed Bruegge Band plays at noon the first Wednesday of every month in Fairfield.
