Congregate Meals: May 6-10, 2013
The Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its menu for the coming week.
Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.
Monday — Bistro chicken breast, scalloped potatoes, asparagus, peach strawberry and banana medley, and an ice cream cup.
Tuesday— Roast beef, baked potato half with sour cream, creamed spinach, fresh fruit, and a gelatin parfait.
Wednesday— Roast pork, candied sweet potatoes, cheesey steamed cabbage, banana, and a sherbet cup.
Thursday — Turkey noodle casserole, butter beans, mixed green salad, vinegar and oil dressing, and fresh fruit.
May 10 — Potato-crusted fish fillet, oven-roasted baby pot peas with tarragon, and fruited yogurt.
Milk, whole-wheat and whole-grain bread/muffins, and margarine are offered with all meals. The menu provides a general balanced diet that meets the RDA’s/RIA’s for adults.
Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses of any age. Full cost of meals is: congregate, $5.87; carryout, $6.35; home delivered, $7.73.
Reservations for meals at the Fairfield senior center must be made one day in advance either at the center or by calling 472-4403.

Bingo is played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and the Ed Bruegge Band plays at noon the first Wednesday of every month in Fairfield.
