Congregate Meals: November 14-18, 2016

Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its congregate meals menu for the coming week.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield senior center and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge senior center.

Monday — beef meatball, brown gravy, scalloped potatoes, creamed peas, apricot halves, wheat dinner roll or bread, with margarine, skim milk.

Tuesday — turkey tetrazzini, green bean almondine, Tomato Spoon Salad, mandarin oranges and bananas, wheat dinner roll or bread, with margarine, skim milk.

Wednesday — baked chicken breast, oven-browned potatoes, broccoli Normandy, blushing peaches, wheat dinner roll or bread, with margarine, skim milk.

Thursday — Hearty Beef Vegetable Soup, spinach-mandarin orange salad, diced pears, wheat dinner roll or bread, with margarine, skim milk.

Nov. 18 — roast pork loin in gravy, candied sweet potatoes, braised red cabbage, red gelatin with bananas, wheat dinner roll or bread, with margarine, skim milk.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Reservations for meals at the Fairfield site must be made one day in advance either at the senior center or by calling 472-4403.

For reservations at the Lockridge Senior Center, call 319-696-2086.

Bingo is played 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.

Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the senior citizen center.
