Construction will close US 65 in Lucas County
CHARITON — A Portland cement concrete overlay and patching project on U.S. 65 in Lucas County will require closing the roadway to traffic from the Wayne County line north to U.S. 34 beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.
During this road construction project, traffic will be detoured using U.S. 34, Iowa 14 and Iowa 2.
Work will begin from the south and work north.
U.S. 65 is expected to reopen Aug. 12.
Manatt’s Inc., of Brooklyn, is the contractor for this $6 million dollar project.
