Air Force Airman 1st Class Elisha D. Cook graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
Cook completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Cook is the daughter of Elsworth Cook of Fairfield. She is a 2007 graduate of Fairfield High School. She earned an associate degree in 2010 from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.
Army National Guard Spec. Ryan D. Larson has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Georgia.
During the nine weeks of training, Larson received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Larson is the son of Roanne and David Larson of Fairfield. He is a 2007 graduate of Fairfield High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.
