‘Cooking for a Crowd’ set
“Cooking for a Crowd” is set from 2-3 p.m. April 18 at the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office.
The free class is designed to provide fundamental food safety and sanitation information useful to occasional quantity cooks serving funeral dinners, spaghetti suppers, fish frys and other occasional meals to the public, according to nutrition and health program specialists with Iowa State University Extension & Outreach.
The objectives of the class include the volunteer and paid food workers: understanding why proper food handling and cleaning and sanitizing are important; and being convinced to practice safe food handling and cleaning and sanitizing practices.
Although the class is free, registration is requested to ensure program materials and handouts are available.
Register for the class by calling the Extension office at 472-4166, or emailing email@example.com by Friday.
