The following court cases were processed at Jefferson County Courthouse.

 

Magistrate Court

Jayme Liles, 30, of Floris, entered a guilty plea to violation of a no contact order and was sentenced to seven days in jail less credit for time served.

David Allen Phillips, 45, of 701 E. Lowe Ave., No. 212, had all warrants dismissed with costs to the defendant.

Marcus Adrian Keinert Ames, 21, had a public intoxication charge dismissed. He was fined $60.

Rachael Lorenza Austin, 38, of 606 W. Monroe Ave., No. 13, pleaded guilty to public intoxication and violation of a no contact order. She was fined $240, sentenced to seven days in jail for violating the order and two days in jail for public intoxication, to run concurrently.

Greyson James Bankson, 19, of Birmingham, failed to appear for pre-trial and was fined $273.

 

District Court

Casey James Robert Griffin, 22, of 2323 Highway 1, violated probation and was charged with contempt of court. His probation continues but was modified to require he complete treatment at either MECCA, a community-based substance abuse and behavioral health services in Des Moines, or at Iowa Residential Treatment Center in Mount Pleasant. He will remain in Jefferson County Jail until a bed is available at either treatment center. If he successfully completes treatment, he can be returned to regular probation. If he doesn’t successfully complete treatment, he returns to the Jefferson County Jail pending further hearings. He was ordered to pay court costs and court appointed attorney fees if any.

Carter William Shepard, 26, of Agency, violated probation and probation was revoked. He will serve his original sentences as imposed.

 

Associate District Court

David Eugene Pratt, 41, of 1300 W. Jackson Ave., No. 15, violated a no contact order and was sentenced to two days in jail less credit for time served. He was ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs.

Grace Korene Tedrow, 39, of West Point, pleaded guilty to third-degree harassment, a simple misdemeanor. She was fined $65 plus a 35 percent surcharge, ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs.

Nayi Shen, 23, of 1000 N. Fourth St., had a charge dismissed. Costs, restitution and court appointed attorney fees if any, were charged to the defendant.

Jason Devere Pease, 25, of 200 N. 28th St., No. 14, pleaded guilty to public intoxication, second offense, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years probation. He was ordered to complete a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days. He was fined $315 plus a 35 percent surcharge and ordered to pay court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs.

Nikhom Leo Sisomphane, 39, of 1104 Sunset Drive, pleaded guilty to driving while revoked, a serious misdemeanor. Sisomphane was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served. The sentence was suspended and replaced by two years probation. Sisomphane was fined $1,000 plus a 30 percent surcharge, ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. Two other cases were dismissed with costs to the defendant.
