The following cases were processed in Jefferson County Courthouse.

 

Associate District Court

Morgan Robert Janssen, 22, of 1010 North B St., pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on one year of probation. He was ordered to have a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days. His license was revoked for 180 days. He was fined $315 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. He was ordered to pay court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. Another Jefferson County case was dismissed with costs to the defendant. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file.

 

District Court

Daniel Diaz Gonzalez, 34, of 804 W. Depot Ave., pleaded guilty to conspiracy to deliver and/or possess with intent to deliver methamphetamine, 5 grams or less, a Class C felony, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp on a taxable substance. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $1,000 plus a 35 percent surcharge on the first count; and five years in prison and fined $750 plus a 35 percent surcharge on the second count. His sentences and fines were suspended. He was placed on three years probation. He was ordered to pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, pecuniary damages, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. His license was revoked for 180 days. He was ordered to comply with evaluation and treatments, to abstain from all controlled substances and ordered not to enter taverns, liquor stores or any establishment with a primary activity of selling alcohol, nor associate with persons known to be engaged in criminal activity or persons with a criminal record. He must actively seek and maintain verifiable employment. He was ordered to submit to toxicology testing and pay all costs associated. He must submit a specimen for DNA profiling. Count III and another Jefferson County case were dismissed per a plea agreement.
