The following court cases were processed at Jefferson County Courthouse:

 

Associate District Court

Patrick Michael Ives, 18, of Ottumwa, pleaded guilty and received a deferred judgment for operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. He was placed on two years probation, ordered to have a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days, fined $1,250 and ordered to pay court costs, restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any. Another Jefferson County case was dismissed with costs to him per a plea agreement. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file with law enforcement.

Troy Richard Lyons, 20, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served; all but two days was suspended. He was placed on two years probation, his license was revoked, and he was ordered to successfully complete a drinking driver’s course and obtain a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days. He was fined $1,250 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge. He was ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. He is authorized to perform community service and federal minimum wage to pay fines, excluding surcharges. Another Jefferson County case was dismissed with costs to him per a plea agreement. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file with law enforcement.

Jermaine Daniel Howard, 30, of Ottumwa, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to two days in jail, less credit for time served. His license was revoked. He was ordered to successfully complete a drinking driver’s course and obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow any of its recommendations. He was fined $1,250 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge. He was ordered to pay court costs. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file with law enforcement.

Dustin Roy Tomlin, 26, of Packwood, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail less credit for time served. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years probation. He was fined $315 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. He was ordered to pay restitution, $960 to the victim, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file with law enforcement.

 

District Court

Jeffrey Alan Reed, 35, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty in Count I of willful injury resulting in serious injury. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, his sentence was suspended. He was placed on five years probation. He was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow its recommendations. He was ordered to pay pecuniary damages of $119 to victim and $4,952 to the Crime Victim Compensation program. A five-year no-contact order with the victim was ordered. He was fined $1,000 plus a 35 percent surcharge. He was ordered to pay court costs and court appointed attorney fees if any. Count II was dismissed with costs to him. He was ordered to supply a specimen for a DNA profile.

Michael James Conlin, 27, of Ottumwa, was convicted of crimes of escape from the Ottumwa Residential Facility Nov. 6, 2013, a Class D felony. He was sentenced to prison, not to exceed five years, less credit for time served. His sentence is to run consecutive to a sentence in Jefferson County. He was fined $750 plus a 35 percent surcharge. He can perform community service work at federal minimum wages to pay the fine. He was ordered to pay court costs and court appointed attorney fees if any. He was requested to submit a specimen for DNA profiling.

Zackery Russell Yancey, 19, of Fairfield, was found in contempt of court for violating probation. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail less credit for time served. He was ordered to return to the Iowa Residential Treatment Center in Mt. Pleasant and successfully complete the program. His probation continues. After successful completion of IRTC, he is to live in the Men’s Residential Facility in Ottumwa for 365 days or until maximum benefits have been achieved. He was ordered to pay court costs and $1,000 in attorney fees.

Jaymi Lee Johnson, 32, of Lockridge, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor. She was sentenced to seven days in jail less credit for time served. The sentence is to run concurrent with another Jefferson County case. She was fined $65. She was ordered to pay court costs, court appointed attorney fee if any and pecuniary damages of $495 to the victim.

 

Magistrate Court

Jenber Dendir Nurye, 32, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of disorderly conduct and was fined $148.

Austin Alan Francisco, 18, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $195.

Brenda Lee Williams, 55, of Birmingham, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was fined $148 plus a $125 surcharge.

Nathaniel A. Talent-Jenkins, 20, of Birmingham, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree theft and was fined $195.

Andrew Glen Helton, 23, of Pulaksi, pleaded guilty to trespass and was fined $218.

Abner Obed Delgado Perez, 41, of Washington, Iowa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of simple violation of a no-contact order and was fined $195.

Andi Danielle Bayless, 20, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of disorderly conduct and was fined $148.
