The following court cases were processed at Jefferson County Courthouse:
Christian Steven Tosh, 19, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to second-degree theft, a Class D felony. He was sentenced to five years in prison, less credit for time served in jail, and fined $750 plus a 35 percent surcharge. His sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years probation. He was ordered to comply with evaluation and treatment recommendations. He was ordered to abstain from controlled substances and have no associations with persons with criminal records or engaged in criminal activities. He was ordered to seek employment. He must comply with a restitution plan, submit to toxicology testing on request and pay all costs associated if he is found to be using. He was ordered to reside in a treatment facility for 365 days or until maximum benefits have been achieved. He remains in the Jefferson County jail until space is available. His fine and surcharge were suspended. He was ordered to pay a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, pecuniary damages, court charges and court appointed attorney fees if any. He was ordered to provide a specimen for DNA profiling. Five more Jefferson County cases were dismissed per a plea agreement.
Adam Lynn Redding of Libertyville pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and was sentenced to five years in prison less credit for time served in jail, fined $750 plus a 35 percent surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. He was ordered to pay pecuniary damages of $36,550 to victim, joint and several with Benjamin Ferguson; Redding has requested another hearing about the pecuniary damages. He was ordered to pay court appointed attorney fees if any. He was ordered to provide a specimen for DNA profiling. Count II and three other cases were dismissed per a plea agreement.
