The following cases were judged at Jefferson County Courthouse:

Associate District Court

Hernanez Palmeros, 46, of Ottumwa, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, less credit for time served; all but two days were suspended. He was place on two years probation and his license was revoked. He was ordered to successfully complete a drinking driver’s course. He was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation within 45 days of judgment. He was fined $1,250 and a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge. He was ordered to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. Two other Jefferson County cases were dismissed. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file with law enforcement.

Tyler Curran Koenecke, 25, of Fairfield, violated probation and had his probation revoked. He was ordered to serve original sentences from Dec. 24, 2013 and Oct. 7, 2013, less credit for time served. He was ordered to pay court costs and court appointed attorney fees if any.

Trent Edward McKinney, 26, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was fined $65 plus a 35 percent surcharge, a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. He was order to pay restitution, court appointed attorney fees if any and court costs. Another Jefferson County case was dismissed per a plea agreement. He was ordered to be fingerprinted if none are on file with law enforcement.
