These court cases were processed at Jefferson County Courthouse:
Bryan Alan Kephart, 20, of Richland, received a deferred judgment for aiding and abetting a third-degree burglary. He was placed on five years probation; must comply with evaluation and/or treatment recommended by the department; abstain from all controlled substances and not enter taverns, liquor stores or establishments where the primary activity is the sale of alcohol and beer. He must have no association with persons known to have a criminal record. He must seek and maintain verifiable employment. He was ordered to submit to toxicology tests at the request of the department and pay all associated costs. He was ordered to pay a $750 civil penalty, a law enforcement initiative surcharge, restitution/pecuniary charges of $840 and may be later ordered jointly and severely with co-defendants Dakata Woodward and Justain Hall in the event they are ordered to pay restitution. Kephart was ordered to pay court costs, court appointed attorney fees if any and submit a specimen for DNA profiling.
Donald Harvey Essary, 61, of 412 South 15th St., pleaded guilty to possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to use as a precursor. He was given a deferred judgment with five years probation and ordered to substance abuse treatment as recommended by his probation supervisor. He was ordered to pay court costs, restitution, a civil penalty of $750 and a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge. Another count was dismissed with costs to the defendant.
John Thomas Odell, 46, of 107 W. Stone Ave., violated terms of his probation, which was revoked and he must serve the original sentence, pay court costs and court appointed attorney fees.
Waylon Kyle Stutzman, 31, of 2149 Osage Ave., pleaded guilty to an amended charge of disorderly conduct and was fined $147, and ordered to pay $723 restitution.
Rachael Lorenza Austin, 38, of 606 W. Monroe Ave., No. 13, pleaded guilty to contempt and was fined $147 plus dismissal costs for harassment. A no contact order was entered.
Roel Benitez. 35, of 205 N. Ninth St., pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $147.
Jon Dorrell Mason, 44, of 1400 S. Maple St., pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and according to a plea agreement, received a deferred judgment to serve six months probation to the court and pay a $65 civil penalty. A one-year no contact order was entered.
William Austin Chance, 25, of Albia, pleaded guilty to an amended charge, a simple misdemeanor, of violation of a no contact order. He was sentenced to two days in jail, less credit for time served.
Thaddeus Rashad Nolan, 23, of 801 South D St., pleaded guilty to public intoxication and was fined $147.
William Thomas Slack, 19, of 507 E. Lowe Ave., was fined $330 for failure to appear.
Carter William Shepard pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal mischief and was fined $147.
