Cultural alliance hosting annual networking gala
The Fairfield Cultural Alliance will host its 2012 annual networking gala, “Connect and Prosper,” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Icon Gallery in the Cultural District.
The gala is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. During the event, culture lovers and creators will be able to connect with others in the community who create and support arts and cultural events and projects. Those attending can learn about upcoming events and share strategies and support.
The networking gala also includes speakers: Fairfield Mayor Ed Malloy on a grant project for Cultural District building façade improvement; Fairfield Cultural Alliance president Denyce Rusch reporting on a recent statewide Downtown Summit; Two Roads Educational Arts and Theatre director Derek Anderson; the upcoming Fairfield Culture Fest; and the new Orpheum Theater project.
The Fairfield Cultural Alliance Cultural Contribution Award will be presented to a group or individual who has made a significant contribution to Fairfield’s cultural community in 2012.
Gourmet appetizer and dessert refreshments will be available. Musical entertainment, with a dance exhibition, plus door prizes, will complete the party.
The Fairfield Cultural Alliance is a nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission includes administering the Fairfield Cultural District and supporting art and culture in Fairfield through grants, education, and marketing. Fairfield Cultural Alliance projects have included the Fairfield Cultural Trust Fund for mini grants, the Fairfield Walking Tour booklet annual editions, and annual Cultural Contribution Awards.
The working volunteer board of the Fairfield Cultural Alliance welcomes involvement to continue its work for the community and invites everyone to come and share plans and ideas for 2013 and beyond.
