Daddy-Daughter Dance set Saturday
The Family Ties Relay for Life team will host the third annual Daddy-Daughter Dance for kindergarten through fifth-grade girls and their fathers from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Pence Elementary School.
Proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society.
One of the organizers, Cynthia Post, said refreshments and door prizes are planned and photo package opportunities will be available.
The cost is $15 for one father-daughter couple; each additional daughter is $5 each or a maximum of $25.
Those who missed the preregistration and payment deadline still are welcome to attend, said Post.
Registration and payment, made payable to American Cancer Society, can be accomplished at the door Saturday.
Calling Post at 472-1404 to reserve a spot isn’t necessary, but it can help registration go smoother, she added.
Last year, about 100 people, including 48 girls, attended the fundraising dance.
“We think it’s good. We’ll see how much it grows this year … we hope to move to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center in the future,” said Post.
Post said while guests are welcome to wear casual attire, the dance does give some guests an opportunity to dress up.
“Some of the girls wear fancy dresses, their dads buy them flowers, and the dads wear dress pants and ties,” she said.
