Danial Robert Martin
Danial Robert Martin, 64, of Pasadena, Calif., formerly of Brighton, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, in Pomona Valley Community Hospital in Pomona, Calif.
A funeral will at 4 p.m. Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery in Richland, will be at a later date following cremation.
Visitation begins at 2:30 p.m. Sunday immediately preceding the funeral.
Memorials to the National Wildlife Fund or the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 556 South Fair Oaks Ave., No. 101-338, Pasadena, CA 91105.
Mr. Martin was born May 5, 1949, in Fairfield, the son of Robert and Ruth Krewson Martin. He married Christina Tchalakian in Glendale, Calif.
He attended grade school in Richland and Brighton and graduated from Washington High School in 1967.
He graduated from Iowa State University in Ames with a bachelor degree in engineering in 1971.
He and his wife lived for several years in Glendale and recently moved to Pasadena.
He worked as a licensed land surveyor and was especially proud of his contribution to building of the Alaska Pipeline and his overseas assignments in the Middle East.
His hobbies included sports, photography, golf and travel.
Survivors include his wife Christina of Pasadena; his father, Robert of Brighton; one sister, Elaine Martin of Reno, Nev.; and one brother, Richard Martin of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant brother.
