Daugherty leads Warrior girls at conference
WEST BURLINGTON — Unity Daugherty won the 1500 and the Van Buren girls’ track team finished fifth out of seven teams Monday at the SEISC South Division meet.
The Warrior girls placed ahead of both sixth-place Cardinal (61) and seventh-place Maharishi School (13). Central Lee won the team title, racking up 152 points.
Daugherty, a junior, finished the 1500-run in 5:24 for the Warriors’ only win. She also finished second in the 3000 in 11:44.
Cardinal’s shuttle hurdle relay team of Alexis Adam, Alexis Fullenkamp, Lindsey Davis and Delaney Ridgway won in 1:17. Ridgway also finished first in the high jump with a top leap of 4-feet, 6-inches.
Sophia Goodale posted the Pioneers’ top performance, finishing second in the 400-dash (1:05.70).
