David Lee Murphy brings country hits, swagger Friday to Sondheim center
David Lee Murphy and his band are bringing country hits and swagger to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts for a summer concert Friday.
Murphy’s “Dust on the Bottle” and “Party Crowd” continue to be staples on country radio and have gained a permanent spot at parties throughout the country. “Dust on the Bottle” was a No. 1 hit and “Party Crowd” was the most- played song on country radio in 1995.
Other hit singles from Murphy include “Just Once,” “The Road You Leave Behind,” “Every Time I Get Around You” and “Out With A Bang.” He has 13 charting country music hits to his name and his shows are a party like no other.
“David Lee Murphy’s show is part of our Summer at the Sondheim Series and will be filled with current Top 40 country music’s greatest hits,” said Rustin Lippincott, executive director of Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. “David Lee Murphy is a staple in country music ... get ready for a party — a fun, rockin’, heart and soul, good time.”
Murphy has become one of Nashville’s most in-demand songwriters whose compositions have been recorded by many of today’s country music superstars. He will perform his hits as well as songs he has written including: “The Only Way I Know” and “Big Green Tractor” recorded by Jason Aldean; “Pirate Flag” and “Living in Fast Forward” recorded by Kenny Chesney; “Anywhere With You” recorded by Jake Owen; “Are You Going To Kiss Me or Not” recorded by Thompson Square; and “The More I Drink” recorded by Blake Shelton.
