Demonstration farm holding fall field day
CRAWFORDSVILLE — Iowa State University Southeast Iowa Research & Demonstration Farm will hold a fall field day Thursday.
Tours planned for the “Helping You Prosper in the 21st Century” will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The tour stops will include:
• “Crop Season Review,” with Myron Rees, the farm superintendent;
• “Bioenergy Crop Research,” with Greg Brenneman, ISU Extension ag engineer;
• “Are Cover Crops for You?,” with Sarah Carlson of Practical Farmers of Iowa;
• “How to Slow the Spread of Pesticide Resistance,” with Mike Owen, ISU Extension weed specialist; and
“Dry Corn in the Field or in the Dryer?,” with Jim Jensen, ISU Extension farm management specialist.
Certified Crop Advisors credits are available for a fee.
To reach the research and demonstration farm, go 1.75 miles south of Crawfordsville on Highway 218, then 2 miles east on G62, then 0.75 mile north. Signs are posted.
