Dexter awards scholarships
The 2013 Dexter Laundry Inc. scholarships recently were presented to six students by Andy Kretz, Dexter Laundry president.
The scholarships are awarded annually to sons or daughters of employees of Dexter Laundry. The scholarships are based on scholastic achievement, community involvement and on the student’s parent’s service to the company.
Students receiving scholarships included Mason Carnahan, son of Blake and Carol Carnahan of Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 2013 and plans to major in aerospace engineering at Iowa State University in Ames.
Mariah Creamer is the daughter of Steve and Bev Creamer of Ottumwa. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 2012 and is currently majoring in physical therapy at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa.
Paige Jensen is the daughter of Eric and Brenda Jensen of Hedrick. She graduated from Pekin High School in 2012 and is majoring in speech pathology at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
Seth Jensen is the son of Eric and Brenda Jensen of Hedrick. He graduated from Pekin High School in 2013 and plans to major in zoology at Northwest Missouri State University Maryville, Mo.
Dalton Kane is the son of Dan and Lynn Kane of Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 2010 and is majoring in business management at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Ashlyn Nordyke is the daughter of Danny Nordyke and Cassandra Mitchell. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 2013 and plans to major in business/accounting at the University of Northern Iowa.
