Dinner, silent auction to benefit Frantz family
A benefit dinner and silent auction to benefit the Chris and Sonese Frantz family is planned from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Pence Elementary School gym.
“We are still looking for food and supply donations, auction donations and monetary donations,” said organizer Christine Neubauer. “If you would like to donate something to help, please contact me. All donations are greatly appreciated by the family and me.”
Neubauer said all donors will be acknowledged at the benefit, unless they request not to be recognized.
According to Neubauer, Chris Frantz woke up with a terrible headache April 19, 2011. Doctors found an arachnoid cyst at the base of his brain. He had eight surgeries throughout the next year. Sonese Frantz took on additional jobs to help provide for their family, including 6-year-old Schuyllar, 5-year-old Serenity and 2-year-old Shaddaiah, but it was not enough to meet the financial burden of multiple hospitalizaitons. The benefit Friday will help the family in recovering from the financial hardship.
A free-will offering will be collected for the dinner. A silent auction and a 50/50 raffle is planned.
“I will be selling the tickets now through April 12, and a winner will be drawn and contacted during the benefit,” said Neubauer. “Tickets are one for $1, six for $5 and 13 for $10.”
