AMES (AP) — The Iowa Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing for March 14 to discuss a proposed four-lane reconstruction of U.S. Highway 61 in Louisa County.

DOT staff will informally discuss the design and how the proposed construction will affect nearby properties. The public is invited to talk about the project between 5 - 7 p.m. at the Louisa-Muscatine Elementary School Cafeteria in Letts.

The project includes reconstruction of the four-lane highway in Louisa County from 130th Street north to the existing four-lane road at the Muscatine County line.
